The source code for this NEXTSTEP 3.3 driver is released under the terms of the GNU General Public License. The driver is distributed in two forms. The first, IEEE488Driver1.0.src.tar.gz, contains the sources for the driver and associated support routines. Get this if you want to see how a DriverKit device driver using interrupts and host-master DMA works. This file also contains source and documentation for a library of IEEE-488 classes. A binary version of the driver is available in the Installer.app packege IEEE488Driver1.0.pkg. To install the driver from the package: 1 - Log in as root. 2 - Double click on the IEEE488Driver1.0.pkg file. - Click on the `Install' button. 3 - Run Configure.app: - click on the `Other' button at the top of the window. - click on the `Add...' button. This will bring up the `Add Other Devices' panel - click on the `National Instruments GPIB-PCII/IIA' line. - click on the `Add' button. - set the IRQ/DMA/Port information to match the way the card is configured. - set the controller GPIB address appropriately.
