VDOmachines, Release 4.0

The VDOmachines collection is the complete video integration for
NEXTSTEP. Due to the increased number of boards we decided to
reduce the license handling and will now only license the driver.
All applications can be used, as long as they are supported for
the certain board.

Boards
======
SM II: Screen Machine II - does 4:2:2 full quality video resolution
for hq full frame grabbing. Best board for professional video image
digitization. PAL, SECAM, NTSC, S-VHS

SMII^2: Screen Machine II Rev. 2 - just a new hardware revision of
the Screen Machine II.

MM: Movie Machine - mainly distributed in Europe. Supports video in,
audio out (tuner), simple frame grabbing and has a video text decoder.
The main feature is the integrated TV-tuner. (PAL, NTSC) - 4:1:1

MM Pro: Movie Machine PRO - nearly the same as the Movie Machine, but
instead of a video text decoder it is equipped with a video output.
With the software MMStudio it may even be used for simple online
mixing of the two (third is the internal TV-tuner) video inputs.

MM II: Movie Machine II - nearly the same as the Movie Machine PRO,
but has a video text decoder as well as a video output. This board
is again a 4:2:2 digitizer, but only for a half frame. Another argu-
ment is: it supports S-VHS inputs AND outputs!
With the software MMStudio it may even be used for simple online
mixing of the two (third is the internal TV-tuner) video inputs.

INSTALLATION
============
These packages can be unpacked on any NEXTSTEP System (example):
 myhost> gunzip VDOmachines.DRV.4.0.I.b.tar.gz
 myhost> tar -xvf VDOmachines.DRV.4.0.I.b.tar

For further information on installation please refer to the supplied
installation guide.


WHAT'S NEW ?
============
Not too much.
 - several new boards added
 - now also resolutions higher than 1024x768 are supported
 - licensing changed
 - adapted for the new Developer Kit
 - minor bug fixes
 - generic demo mode added

Be aware: this is not a free update for current users, also we think,
that if don't need one of the above mentioned features there is no
need to update old releases.
