Otool by Raf Schietekat RfSchtkt@banruc60.bitnet, Flanders, Belgium RfSchtkt%banruc60.bitnet@uunet.uu.net or so if the short form does not work for you (real, i.e., with triangle in the Deliver button) NeXTmail preferred I can't reach sites with ! or % in their address, or ending in .at or .uucp A GUI TO INSPECT, AND EXTRACT OR CHANGE PORTIONS OF, MACH-O FILES, ARCHIVES (LIBRARIES), TAR FILES. MOST OF OTOOL'S, ALL OF SEGEDIT'S AND PARTS OF OTHER UTILITIES' FUNCTIONALITY< AND SOME EXTRAS. MACH-O AND LIBRARY FILES MAY BE ``FAT''. THE NAME OF THIS PROGRAM IS MERELY HISTORICAL. Tar files, find facility, more symbols in disassembled mc680x0 code, and some other features, only in the registered version. Suggestions, bug reports, reviews, and other reactions welcome. Further development largely depends on your reactions (and the number of registered users), and may include: (further) ar(1), lipo(1), nm(1), otool(1), size(1), strip(1) functionality, patching strings (if somebody tells me how to do that with relocation entries and such), adding various statistics and tests, NEXTSTEP help, etcetera. Opening __TEXT/__text disassembled or fully symbolical just lets otool(1) do the work (on 3.0, this means mc680x0 and i860); for more symbols a postprocessor is applied. In future releases, disassembly will probably become fully customised. Version 1.3 PR 1993-11-14 for NEXTSTEP 3.0 and higher Built for mc680x0 and i386 on a NeXT computer running NEXTSTEP_3.1 Copyright Raf Schietekat, 1993 No warranty except as stated below This version is shareware. You may, and are invited to, copy the non-registered version (indicated by a panel as the application starts up), or distribute copies (always exact copies, except that you may strip architectures for you own use), but not the ``registered'' version, which is directly delivered by myself to registered users only. If you like and want to use this program, you should register by e-mail or traditional mail, and, if you are not a student, pay a fee equivalent to no less than fifty ECUs or a hundred US dollars (whichever you prefer), probably by check or money order, to me, at the following address: Raf Schietekat, Dendermondse Steenweg 163, B-9100 Sint-Niklaas, Belgi_. Registered users are entitled to receive timely corrections of any bug that bothers them at no cost (wouldn't you like a deal like that for NEXTSTEP?), to automatically receive any corrections that are made to the program, and they receive a version with more features enabled.
