README FILE FOR OBJECT:MATH DEMO 1.10 OBJECT:Math is Copyright (c) 1993 by M. Onyschuk and Associates Inc. All Rights Reserved. INTRODUCTION: OBJECT:Math is a collection of tools and 22 Objective-C classes, used to add extensible math and text expression evaluation to your own applications. With OBJECT:Math end-users can enhance applications you ship, with custom-built or third-party bundles of OBJECT:Math functions. A Lotus 1-2-3 compatable spreadsheet can for instance, be made Excel compatable when built using OBJECT:Math. An OBJECT:Math DatabaseKit-based report writer can for example, be taught to decipher data formats unique to particular database servers. PURPOSE OF THE DEMO: The purpose of this demo is to highlight the extensibility of OBJECT:Math. The demo includes the entire OBJECT:Math binary license distribution except libOM.a, the OBJECT:Math library. Following our step-by-step tutorial, you will build an OBJECT:Math function bundle and load it into OMWorkbench.app, the OBJECT:Math workbench sample application. The demo includes all documentation that comes with the OBJECT:Math kit as well as source to several OBJECT:Math applications. SPECIFICALLY, HOW CAN I USE OBJECT:MATH IN MY OWN APPLICATIONS? If you're interested in adding the extensibility of OBJECT:Math to your own applications, but you're not sure exactly how OBJECT:Math can fit into your product, then we're very interested in hearing from you! Our technical staff is versed in the ins-and-outs of the OBJECT:Math package and can recommend ways to do things such as: implement complex OBJECT:Math types eg. vectors, matrices, dates & times, etc. incorporate OBJECT:Math expression parsing into custom parsers link OBJECT:Math with DatabaseKit INSTALLATION NOTES: Because the OBJECT:Math demo installs itself in folders such as /LocalDeveloper and /LocalLibrary, you must be logged in as the superuser to install the package.
