Phone is a personal information manager used to keep addresses, or generic information in a nice, clean format. It can read/write ASCII files with your choice of field and record delimiters, as well as NeXT .address files. Once you give Phone your information, its recognition engine attempts to intelligently recognize patterns (such as phone numbers, email addresses, and WWW addresses) in your records, and puts an icon behind them. Then, for instance, clicking the icon behind a phone number will dial the number either through the modem or speaker. Since having information is not much good if you can't find what you want easily, Phone also has very good searching capabilities. Other handy features include user defined font and text background color, phone dialing (through modem and speaker), email window opening (by clicking the little NeXTMail icon located after an email address), as well as quite a few other cool things.
